VideoCast for ChromeCast App Reviews

I have a poor wireless connection in my home so unless i am casting from an app or on my phone the movies that I try to cast in Google Chrome are choppy and always need to buffer. This app has solved my problem and I can now watch rented, purchased or “borrowed” movies on my TV via Chromecast with minimal interruptions. Some of the users are right - the UI could be a little better but who cares about design when you’ve got functionality. Actually I think that may only be true in this circumstance :)

Most of my videos use AAC 48kHz mp4 from my EyeTV. These cannot be played. I did find one mp4 out out 6 that worked. That mp4 had 44.1kHz audio.

Free version only lets you watch 5 minutes of a video. Otherwise it’s $4.99. Better idea is to just drag your .mp4 file inside a tab in Chrome and cast that tab. It won’t play all video types, but .mp4 definitely works.

I decided to see how well it worked before buying the upgrade. It crashed three times; done!

Useless 5 minute demo version and it doesn’t support many codecs anyway. You don’t even need this tool to cast videos from Chromecast.

Give me back my money and fix your stupid support page link so that people can contact you directly. Terrible app and terrible company. Fix it.

This is truly awful. It should not be in the App store. To sell this to innocent consumers is a form of piracy. Apple, what is wrong with you? Remember, always ask, What would Steve do?

Instantly crashes, drag and drop of .mp4s into chrome tabs (with the chromecast extension installed) works pretty well though. Dont waste time with this.

They limit the free version to five minute videos. Total bait and switch scam. This company should be investigated by the Consumer Protection Agency.

Tried several times to get the Pro version to work and it kept crashing. Should’ve just downloaded the free Chrome extension and not wasted my $4.99 on this ridiculous app.
